18-9.1. WINDSHIELD WASHER SOLENOID VALVE (24V) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
(CONT).
NOTE
Tag and mark lines and fittings prior to
removal to ensure proper installation.

Loosen screw (9) and remove
wiper/washer harness
connector (10) from solenoid
valve (11).
(4)
Remove air line (12) from
elbow (13).
(5)
Remove exhaust hose (14)
from elbow (15).
(6)
Remove two elbows (13 and
15) from solenoid valve (11).
(7)
Remove two screws (16),
lockwashers (17), and solenoid
valve (11) from defroster tube
guard (5).
b. Installation.
WARNING
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing
compounds can burn easily, can give off
harmful vapors, and are harmful to skin
and clothing. To avoid injury or death,
keep away from open fire and use in
well-ventilated area. If adhesive,
solvent, or sealing compound gets on
skin or clothing, wash immediately with
soap and water.
(1)
Install solenoid valve (1) on defroster
tube guard (2) with two lockwashers (3)
and screws (4).
(2)
Coat threads of two elbows (5 and 6)
with sealing compound.
NOTE
Install lines and fittings as noted prior to
removal.
(3)
Install two elbows (5 and 6) on solenoid
valve (1).
(4)
Install exhaust hose (7) on elbow (6).
(5)
Install air line (8) on elbow (5).
(6)
Connect wiper/washer harness
connector (9) to solenoid valve (1) and
tighten screw (10).
