Position new outboard retainer block (5) on the locking pin (1) so that it is centered in the outboard lock
beam opening (6). Pre-stress outboard retainer block 1/8 in. to 3/16 in. out of square off the end of locking
pin (1) to counter pull of the weld.

Place a 0.040 in thick shim (7) between end of outboard retainer block (3) and winch frame (4) and clamp
in place.

Pre-heat locking pin (1) to 475 F.

Tack weld outboard retainer block (5) on back corners.
(7)
Weld root pass from on sides of retainer block from back to front.
(8)
Build up weld from side to side until just over flush. All weld passes should be made from back to front.
(9)
Build up weld across front of retainer block until just under flush.
