b. Disassembly.
WARNING
Force required to remove end bushings may exceed 30
tons. Use care when pressing out bushings to prevent
serious personal injury or death. Always wear eye
protection to prevent injury when operating press.

(1) Use end bushing remover to press two beam end
bushings (1) out of equalizer beam (2).
(2) Use center bushing remover to press beam center
housing (3) out of equalizer beam (2).
Cleaning/inspection.

Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful
vapors, and are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away
from open fire and use in well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing
compound gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water.
Clean equalizer beam and parts with dry cleaning solvent.
Clean equalizer beam bushing bores with emery cloth or cylinder hone to remove all scale, rust,
and corrosion.
Inspect equalizer beam for cracks and damage.
Replace equalizer beam if cracked or damaged.
