Tool Kit, General Mechanic's: Automotive

Materials/Parts:
Compound, Antiseize (Item 10, Appendix E)
Cotter Pin (Item 24, Appendix K)
NOTE
PLS and CBT LHS hooks are not interchangeable.
a. Removal.
WARNING
Hook weighs 200 lb (91 kg). Attach suitable lifting device prior to removal to prevent
possible injury to personnel.
(1) Attach lifting device to support hook (1).
LIFTING
DEVICE
(2) Remove snapper pin (2), washer (3) and retaining pin (4).
(3) Remove cotter pin (5), two washers (6), pivot pin (7) and
hook (1) from hook arm (8). Discard cotter pin.
(4) Remove lifting device from hook (1).
b. Installation.
WARNING
1
Hook weighs 200 lb (91 kg). Attach
suitable lifting device prior to installation
to prevent possible injury to personnel.
(1) Attach lifting device to hook (1).
