Steering System Maintenance Instructions (Cont)
(4) Install steering/tensioner pump (5), two
washers (8), lockwashers (9), and screws (10).
(5) Install preformed packing (11), hose (12), two
clamp halves (13), four lockwashers (14), and
screws (15).
(6) Connect two hoses (16 and 17) and tighten
nuts (6).
f. Follow-on Maintenance.
(1) Fill hydraulic reservoir (para 13-8).
(2) Start engine and turn steering wheel
stop-to-stop three times to bleed air out of
system.
(3) Check for leaks.
