b.1. Disassembly (Model B).
NOTE
Some Model B filter assemblies have a
machined head. Others have a cast head.
Bowls for the cast head and bowls for the
machined head are not interchangeable.
All other internal parts are the same.
Disassembly is the same.
(1)
Remove plug (1) and preformed packing
(2) from bowl (3). Drain fluid.
(2)
Remove bowl (3) from head (4).
(3)
Remove filter (5) and bushing (6) from
head (4).
(4)
Remove backup ring (7) and preformed
packing (8) from head (4).
(5)
Remove bypass valve assembly (9) from
head (4).
c. Cleaning/Inspection.
WARNING
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors,
and are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire
and use in well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing compound gets on skin or
clothing, wash immediately with soap and water.

Clean all metal parts in dry-cleaning solvent.
(2)
Inspect each part for damage.
(3)
Replace damaged parts.
d. Assembly (Model A).
(1)
Install valve (1) with retaining
ring (2).
(2)
Install preformed packings (3 and 4)
on differential pressure device (5).
(3)
Install differential pressure
device (5) and cover (6) in head (7).
