Turn workstand to place transfer case front half (4) in vertical position.

Coat groove in clutch collar (63) with grease.

Engage clutch collar (63) with lower shift rod assembly (17) so groove is in same location as noted
at removal.

Install input shaft yoke spacer (64).
WARNING
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful
vapors, and are harmful to skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away
from open tire and use in well-ventilated area. If adhesive, solvent, or sealing
compound gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water.

Coat end of lower front output shaft assembly (65) with grease. Coat inside flange of bearing
cap (66) with adhesive and install.

Coat threads of six screws (67) with sealing compound and install lockwashers (68) and screws.
Tighten screws to 60 lb-ft (81 N•m).

Coat thread of elbows (69 and 70) with pipe thread sealing compound and install elbows.
(61) Install hose (71).

Install lockout shift chamber (para 8-14).

Install oil seals (para 8-5).

Install breather (TM 9-2320-279-20).
