17-14. HEAVY-DUTY WINCH BREATHER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (M984) (CONT).
a. Removal. Remove breather (1)
from winch (2).
WARNING
Adhesives, solvents, and sealing
compounds can burn easily, can
give off harmful vapors, and are
harmful to skin and clothing. To
avoid injury or death, keep away
from open fire and use in
well-ventilated area. If adhesive,
solvent, or sealing compound
gets on skin or clothing, wash
immediately with soap and
water.
b. Cleaning. Clean breather (1) with dry cleaning solvent and brush.
c. Installation.
(1) Apply pipe thread sealing compound to threads of breather (1).
(2) Install breather (1) in winch (2).
d. Follow-on Maintenance. None.
