Before performing hydraulic tests, the hydraulic oil reservoir must be at least warm
to the touch.
Step 1. Check for defective hydraulic PTO pump. Set up hydraulic flowtester on PTO pump output
line. For M984E1 check output at both ports P3 and P4. Start engine, engage PTO, set high
idle (TM 9-2320-279-10).
